Microsoft Windows 10 update has just been released

Windows 10 users are getting a host of new features with pushing out a huge update to its popular operating system.

This new test version, which is available from today to all Windows Insiders, brings updates to Microsoft's Edge browser with users once again able pin their favourite websites to their taskbar.

This build also introduces a new Full Screen experience in Microsoft Edge with adopters simply able to press F11 or choose the new Full Screen icon in the Settings menu to take your websites full-screen.

And Microsoft has added the ability to annotate EPUB Books by highlighting in four colors, underlining, and adding comments and they have added more highlight colours and the option to Ask Cortana in PDFs in Microsoft Edge.

It's not just Edge getting an update as, in this new version of Windows 10, the Action Centre has been redesigned based on Windows users' feedback to provide much clearer information separation and hierarchy.

The new design for Action Centre also includes elements of Microsoft's Fluent Design System Users can also customise the visible quick actions by going to Settings > System > Notifications & actions.

Microsoft's Cortana assistant gets some minor tweaks including the ability to reminder users when she notices event posters in their camera roll.

Emojis are also getting easier to add to social media in Windows 10 with Microsoft adding an Emoji Panel to its software.

Here's what you should do after a Windows 10 upgrade

Press Win + period (.) or Win + semicolon (;) while focus is in a text box and the Emoji Panel will pop up for users to quickly scroll through and pick the emoji you want.

Another nice feature bundled with this new update is improved Pen abilities.

As you write, users will now see their previous words convert to typed text within the handwriting panel.

When filling the handwriting panel and lifting the pen off the screen, the text will shift so users have room to continue writing.

Digital stylus pens don’t have a GPS but the latest Windows 10 update will tell users where they were when they last inked to a computer.

These are just a small example of what's to come with a full list of features available on .

This officail update comes just a week after.

The US technology giant said the Windows 10 build was accidentally released to members enlisted on its Insiders programme.

According to Microsoft, the update wasn't fully tested with the firm stating that, "this build was never intended to go out to Windows Insiders and may include issues that impact usability of your PC."

This problem happened due to an inadvertent deployment to the engineering system that controls which builds/which rings to push out to insiders.

Microsoft says its team was quick to revert the deployment and put blocks in place to stop these builds from going out to more people.
