AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its Radeon Crimson Edition graphics driver, namely the 17.6.1 Non-WHQL build, which adds Multi-GPU profiles and improves performance up to 30% when using 8xMSAA on RX 580 8GB cards for Dirt 4.

In addition to that, the current update also enhances performance by up to 4% for Prey game, fixes HDR failure on some QHD or higher resolution displays, and corrects the stutter and hitching seen in Mass Effect: Andromeda on Multi-GPU configurations.

Moreover, AMD manages to resolve the Virtual Super Resolution issues on Radeon RX 400 and RX 500 GPUs, the FPS drop spotted in Prey during fast mouse movement, as well as other problems highlighted in the Release Notes below.

Still, AMD’s release might experience a few issues with Tom Clancy's: Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, World of Warcraft, Adobe Lightroom, and XBOX DVR apps, as well as a few other small problems

When it comes to compatibility, the available files are suitable for both desktop and notebook configurations running under one of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems. Still, don’t forget that the 32-bit variant of Windows 8.1 isn’t supported.
