Microsoft GM for Surface sees Apple as follower instead of leader with latest iPad Pro

It was only last week when Apple announced its latest addition to its iPad lineup, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro. While it also refreshed its entire line of MacBooks, there really wasn't much new in terms of original products for the laptop segment. There are a lot of minds that think that Apple has stagnated over the past few years, not having introduced truly innovative products since the passing of Steve Jobs, and instead, playing catch up in many segments of its device portfolios.

In an interview with Business Insider, Microsoft general manager for Surface, Ryan Gavin, states that the newly unveiled iPad Pro is a "clear example" of Apple not leading, but instead following the firm. As a bit of knock, Gavin also stated that Microsoft does look at its competition when building its Surface products, but does consider Apple as competition.

Apple was once known for innovation, but for the past few years, has played things safe. Naturally, it's hard to say what exactly the firm has planned for the next couple years to come, but it is clear that things are getting a bit long in the tooth. In contrast, Microsoft has offered up some fairly interesting products with the Surface Book, Surface Pro and also its Surface Studio.
