Supplier revenue projection suggests Apple Watch Series 3 launch in September

A report Tuesday from Economic Daily News, cited by trade publication DigiTimes, serves as yet another indication of a rumored September launch for Apple Watch Series 3.

Although Apple has not publicly discussed a third-generation Apple Watch, supplier Quanta Computer, which has been assembling all Apple Watch models to date, is expecting a strong revenue in the second half of 2017 “thanks to rising demand for notebooks, growing server sales and the release of the next-generation Apple Watch”, according to the report.

Apple Watch Series 3 is likely to help Quanta’s Apple Watch product line turn profitable.

DigiTimes reported in April that contract manufacturer Compal Electronics had joined the Apple Watch supply chain to build older-generation models.

The next Apple Watch may switch from flexible OLED panels to thinner and lighter micro-LEDs. The device is also thought to pack in a longer-lasting battery and have the same design as the current models.
