Latest specifications and clock speeds of Intel's Coffee Lake based Core i7-8700K and Core i5-8600K processors have leaked out. The specifications list confirm that Intel will be shipping an entire range of Coffee Lake chips with much higher clock speeds than previously anticipated.

Intel Coffee Lake Core i7-8700K and Core i5-8600K Specifications Leaked - Hexa Cores Boost Up To 4.3 GHz

The Intel Coffee Lake 8th generation Core processors are expected to launch around Gamescom in the month of August which is next month. The new chips will be featuring the 14nm process along with a range of enhancements. The biggest change these processors are going to feature is an increase in core count. The Core i7 and Core i5 series will be the first to utilize a full-on 6 core design instead of the 4 core quads that we have been looking at for several generations. Another leak that was posted last week reported different clock speeds but turns out that was representing early ES chips while the latest leak reports final model specs.

The processor lineup that has been leaked so far include four chips. These are the Core i7-8700K, Core i7-8700, Core i5-8600K and the Core i5-8400. The Core i7-8700K and the Core i5-8600K use a fully unlocked design, best for overclocking. The Core i7-8700K will act as the flagship chip of the Coffee Lake 8th generation desktop lineup. The specifications for these processors are listed below.

Intel Core i7-8700K - The Coffee Lake Flagship With 6 Cores and 4.3 GHz Boost Across All Cores

The Intel Core i7-8700K will be the flagship processor of the lineup. It will feature 6 cores and 12 threads. The chip will be compatible with the LGA 1151 socket and rumors are that board makers will extend support of Coffee Lake onto 200-series and even 100-series platforms. The chip will be Intel's first hexa core product and will be based on the 14nm process node.

In terms of clock speeds, we are looking at a 3.7 GHz base frequency which boosts up to 4.3 GHz (6 core), 4.4 GHz (4 core), 4.6 GHz (2 core) and 4.7 GHz (1 core). These clocks are really impressive so we can expect much faster gaming performance on Coffee Lake parts than the current generation of CPUs. The chip is fully unlocked allowing for overclocking and comes with a TDP of 95W. There's 12 MB of L3 cache on board along with a GT2 tier iGPU. The chip supports DDR4-2666 MHz memory (native) and up to 4400 MHz+ (OC). We can expect the Core i7-8700K to cost around $349 US when it launches in Q3 2017.

Intel Core i5-8600K - The Gamer Aimed Hexa Core With Overclocking Capability and 4.1 GHz Boost

The Intel Core i5-8600K is the second unlocked chip in the lineup and features a hexa core design. We have learned that Intel Core i5 series will stick with 6 cores but they will not feature a multiple threaded design. The chip probably features 9 MB of L3 cache while being supported on the LGA 1151 socket.

In terms of clock speeds, we are looking at 3.6 GHz base, 4.1 GHz (6 core), 4.2 GHz (4 core), 4.2 GHz (2 core) and 4.3 GHz (1 core) boost clocks. The chip will feature a TDP of 95W and we can expect a price range of around $249 US which will make it a pretty good option for gamers that want some extra cores in their hands.

Intel Core i7-8700 65W 6 Core CPU Specifications:

The other two processors include the Core i7-8700 and Core i5-8400. The Intel Core i7-8700 is a 6 core, 12 thread offering which is similar to the Core i7-8700K but features lower TDP and a lower clock speed. The chip clocks in at 3.2 GHz base and boost frequencies of 4.3 GHz (6 core), 4.3 GHz (4 core), 4.5 GHz (2 core), 4.6 GHz (1 core). The TDP is maintained at 65W which makes it a pretty decent offering, but it doesn't feature any overclocking support at all. Pricing may be similar to that of the Core i7-8700K.

Intel Core i5-8400 65W 6 Core CPU Specifications:

The Intel Core i5-8400 is a 6 core, non multi-thread offering which is similar to the Core i5-8600K but features lower TDP and a lower clock speed. The chip clocks in at 2.8 GHz base and boost frequencies of 3.8 GHz (6 core), 3.9 GHz (4 core), 3.9 GHz (2 core), 4.0 GHz (1 core). The TDP is maintained at 65W and pricing can be less than $200 US.

Intel Coffee Lake parts feature the highest frequencies we have ever seen on Intel chips and that's a good thing. We also reported that Intel's Coffee Lake Core i3 series will be using quad core, multi-threaded designs while the Pentium series will be using quad core, non multi-threaded SKUs which will boost the performance on the budget tier chips. Expect more details on the Coffee Lake lineup in the coming months.
