Microsoft and Taco Bell "return to their roots" with Xbox One X partnership

Microsoft has announced a promotional partnership with Taco Bell, launching on August 31. "Taco Bell and Xbox first partnered to launch the original Xbox in 2001, and are returning to their roots with this promotion to launch the Xbox One X," Microsoft's Mike Nelson said today.

The marketing collaboration will give US gaming fans who purchase the new 'Steak Quesarito' $5 box the opportunity to win the new Xbox One X console, which will be released in November.

Each box will include a unique code that customers will be able to text for a chance to win the console. The boxes will be available from August 31 to October 4 "at participating Taco Bell locations while supplies last". Microsoft says that "a potential winner will be notified on an average of every 10 minutes." Those who win the console will also get a copy of Forza Motorsport 7, and a three-month Xbox Game Pass.

Taco Bell's Chief Marketing Officer, Marisa Thalberg, ambitiously described the promotion as "the ultimate food and gaming offer", adding that it's "another way Taco Bell is tapping what is current in culture".
