It’s a sad day for glittery iPhone cases. More than 200,000 cases are being recalled in the US, Canada, and Mexico after they reportedly leaked on people and caused chemical burns, blisters, and skin irritation. The cases were made by MixBin Electronics, which sold cases for the iPhone 6, 6S, and 7 at major retailers, including Amazon, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch, and Victoria's Secret. It also sold them on its website.

Twenty-four cases of irritation or burns have been reported worldwide, including 19 in the US. One person reported being permanently scarred from a chemical burn, while another person reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body, and hands.

MixBin lists all affected cases on its recall notice, but unless you specifically recognize the design, you might have difficulty identifying your case because some are pretty generic. The company says to refer back to the original packaging in order to determine whether your case is affected. That's the only place the model number and UPC are listed. 

I doubt most people kept their packaging or even remember who made their case. I currently have a glittery phone case, and I have no idea who made it. I'd suggest swapping your case out for something else, if you even remotely suspect that your case might be affected. The company is offering full refunds. I'm never going to look at glittery phone cases the same way.
