Good news for those of you who use Apple Music on your Android device.
Apple on Monday updated the app with a bunch of new features, including user profiles and "Ok Google" support. You can now create a profile and follow others to see what they're jamming out to and the playlists they've shared.
The update also adds voice search; just touch and hold your phone's home button or say "Ok Google" to play a specific song, artist, album, or Beats 1 Radio. There's also a new recently played widget, which shows and lets you play recent music on your home screen.
Finally, Apple has added some new shortcuts that should help you queue up the jams faster. Just tap and hold the Apple Music icon to quickly play Beats 1 or start a new search.
Apple Music offers access to more than 40 million songs, plus your entire iTunes music library, totally ad-free. You can download your favorite jams to access them offline and save cellular data, get daily personalized recommendations based on what you listen to, and access exclusive content like Apple's Carpool Karaoke and Planet of the Apps shows.
If you're new to the app, you can get a free three-month trial; after that it costs $9.99 a month and you'll be charged automatically unless you cancel.
The Apple Music Android app earned a "good" rating in PCMag's review, though we pointed out that "without the support of the Apple ecosystem, Apple Music is less appealing on Android than it is on Apple's mobile devices."
