Microsoft has made Edge beta available for all iPhone users

A couple of days ago, Microsoft unexpectedly announced that it would be bringing Windows 10's default browser, Microsoft Edge, to Android and iOS. Initially, the Edge iOS beta was limited to Windows Insiders only, due to Apple App Store constraints with regard to beta apps. Now, however, the company has revealed that anyone will be able to sign-up for the Edge iOS preview, starting from today.

iOS users who feel the need to access the Edge Browser Beta program will have to register for the preview using their first name, last name, and Apple IDs. They will then receive an email from Apple with further instructions regarding the program within the next 24 hours.

Microsoft executive, Joe Belfiore, confirmed the public beta availability of the Edge browser for iOS in an official Twitter announcement, asking users to ''spread the word'' of the company's initiative.

Belfiore also noted that Edge on iOS would help "hundreds of millions" of Edge PC users seamlessly roam their experience across their devices. On iOS, the browser will offer similar features to those available on Windows 10 PCs, such as Favorites, Reading List, and Reading View.

Initially, Edge for both Android and iOS will only be available in US-English, however, Microsoft plans to expand support to more countries and languages soon. Features such as roaming passwords and support for tablets will also be introduced in the future.
