Microsoft rolled out the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update in October this year, and it looks like adoption improves at a very fast pace, according to new data released today.

AdDuplex says Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709) is currently running on no less than 53.6%, becoming the top Windows 10 version currently in use.

Windows 10 Creators Update, which was released in April this year, is the runner-up version with 33.7%, while Windows 10 Anniversary Update is third with 10.5%.

A total of 0.5% of the systems are still on the original Windows 10 version released in July 2015, and 1.3% are powered by Windows 10 November Update. 0.4% of them run builds shipped as part of the Windows Insider program in anticipation of the Windows 10 Redstone 4 update.

Growing fast in Europe and the US

As compared to the previous version, Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is growing faster, though there’s a chance that this is also the result of Microsoft making the new release available for more PCs at a faster pace. Both rollouts took place in stages, and the Creators Update release completed approximately three months after the first PCs got it.

“The growth line for the Fall Creators Update seems to be much steeper than it was for its predecessor, but not as steep as for the Anniversary Update. Having said that, the older versions of Windows 10 seem to be lingering around much longer which eats into the market share of the newer releases,” AdDuplex says.

Unsurprisingly, the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update adoption rate is higher in Europe and in the United States, with no less than 56.9 percent of the Americans already running this latest version of the operating system. Stats show that Africa and South America are the markets where adoption is improving at a slower pace, with the average share currently at 30%.
