We recently talked about Intel Coffee Lake chips coming out with AMD Vega graphics and now we have the first official news from the official Intel site. We have found the Intel Core i7 8809G Processor with AMD Vega graphics listed on the official Intel site. The Intel Core i7 8809G Processor will be an unlocked chip and will feature 4 cores and 8 threads.
Other than that the Intel Core i7 8809G will also come with 8MB L3 cache and 3.1 GHz base clock. We do not know much about the CPU and will tell you other details as they are revealed but it is more than likely that the integrated AMD Vega graphics will be for mobile platforms and seeing how overclocking in laptops is not common. It will be interesting to see how this laptop will be cooled.
The targeted TDP for the Intel Core i7 8809G is 100W. We also have the mention of i7-8809G, there will be i7-8705G, i7-8706G and you can check out the listing below but there is little that we know about these chips.
It will be interesting to see what kind of performance boost these AMD Vega cores will have to offer as compared to the integrated Intel graphics. We have seen AMD APUs at work in consoles in the past so hopes are pretty high but I will be holding judgments till we have something solid to look at or test.
