Adobe Advances Pen and Touch Support for XD on Windows

Adobe is rolling out the February 2018 update for Experience Design (XD) today. The latest update for Adobe XD brings a major new feature for Windows 10 users with modern devices that include a touch screen and stylus support.

With the February 2018 update for XD on Windows, Adobe is adding improved support for pen and touch. Before, using touch and pen with Adobe XD didn’t provide any additional functionality or ease of use. But the latest update makes it possible to interact with elements in an artboard, and also work with things like the color picker with a pen or touch. You can also use the improved pen support to create artwork, scrub integer values, navigate through layers and interact with symbols, resize objects, drag and drop images with touch, and more as part of the latest update.

Another big feature included in the February 2018 update is the ability to link vector graphics from Adobe Illustrator on XD. If you are someone who use Illustrator to draw vector graphics for your design work, you can now “connect” the vector graphics and import them into XD. That’s pretty basic, of course, but the latest update makes it possible to seamlessly update the graphics without much hassle. When you make changes to a connected vector graphics on Illustrator, the changes will instantly show up on your XD artboards without needing you to manually update or re-import it.

There are a lot of other enhancements available in the February 2018 update for XD, including improvements to Design Specs, commenting abilities, and more.

I actually use Adobe XD for website wireframes. The zoom feature was really strange. I am looking forward to trying this out on my Surface Pro to see if this helps.

The Photoshop support for Surface is pretty awesome. They keep adding touch and dial features. Hopefully Adobe keeps supporting the Surface devices.
