HP's Elite brand has long aimed its innovative security features at businesses, but while enterprise security is always a hot topic, the healthcare industry isn't talked about quite as much. Today, the company announced some variants of its Elite PCs that are aimed at the healthcare industry, including the EliteBook 840 G5 Healthcare Edition and the EliteOne 800 23.8 G4 Healthcare Edition.
The EliteBook 800 G5 series was first announced back in February, but this claims to be the first notebook that's purpose-built for healthcare. It includes HP Easy Clean software, so users can clean the machine with germicidal wipes while it's still on, by deactivating the keyboard, touchscreen, and trackpad. It also has Sure View, which is HP's privacy screen that prevents other people from looking over your shoulder and seeing what you're working on.
The EliteOne 800 G4 23.8 Healthcare Edition is an all-in-one, and it claims to be the first with integrated dual-band RFID and biometrics for single sign-on authentication. HP Audio Boost "provides a robust collaboration experience", and HP Noise Cancellation suppresses background noise. The camera is dual-facing, which is meant to make patient registration easier. The camera pops up, so it provides additional privacy when not in use.
Both of the Elite devices will still contain the other features that the brand has become known for, including Sure Start, Sure Click, and more.
Aside from the two Windows 10 PCs, there's the new HP Healthcare Edition HC270cr Clinical Review Display. It's the first of its kind to include an RFID reader for single sign-on authentication. It's 27 inches and 1440p, "with luminance uniformity, automatic backlight monitoring, auto image rotation, and user calibration to accurately and consistently view medical images". It also includes USB Type-C, and can supply 65W of power to connected devices.

All of the announced devices meet EN/IEC 60601-1-2:2015 standards, and they're made for repeated sanitization. The EliteBook 840 G5 Healthcare Edition will be available in May, while the other two devices are expected to ship in June.
