The Slice integrates all the voice, video, and data capability needed for real-time collaboration into one device. The SRS version of the device also enables high-quality audio and video via Skype for Business. "Online collaboration continues to fuel growth around the globe, and we are pleased that HP Inc. is bringing the next generation of Skype Room Systems solution to market," said Bob Davis, corporate vice president, Microsoft. "The easy-to-deploy and use HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms for Skype Room Systems will transform meeting spaces and enable rich collaborative Skype for Business and soon, Microsoft Teams, experiences."

Slice for Meeting Rooms SRS has an optional Center of Room Control, a 12.3-inch diagonal touchscreen that is able to manage conference calls and includes an HP Presence Sensor that senses when a person enters the room to start the meeting. That controller is connected to the Slice via a 1.3-meter cable allowing the control to be moved around the room for use with multiple participants. The integrated microphone is a far-field unit that can capture sound up to five meters away and supports HP Noise Cancellation to eliminate unwanted sounds.

The device also has a wireless display module eliminating cables with easy sharing via Skype for Business. The display can also be connected via an HDMI port. HP wrote, "HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms SRS is as easy to deploy, secure and manage as a traditional PC, with a standards-based user interface, HP Manageability Integration Kit, and a tool-less set up. As conference devices are typically shared across multiple users, always on, and often unattended for long periods of time, HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms SRS features HP Sure Start with Dynamic Protection and is the only conferencing solution with a self-healing BIOS. The device also features tamper-proof port covers to prevent tampering or damage by users."

Both devices will ship in April with the SRS version selling for $1,799 and the G2 version selling for $1,299. The HP LD4312 4K Large Format Display will ship in June for $599.
