When Apple launched their iPhones last year, it seemed like the company kind of took a step back in terms of the color options that customers could choose from. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were only offered in space grey, silver, or gold, while the iPhone X was only offered in space grey or silver.

However this year could see Apple introduce a new color option in the form of “blush gold”. This is according to a tweet by designer Benjamin Geskin who shared some alleged images of components of the 2018 iPhone in a blush gold finish. This is actually not the first time we’re hearing rumors of a gold iPhone, but Geskin’s tweet seems to suggest that the gold will be different from last year’s gold option.

Geskin also tweeted a comparison image which compared the blush gold SIM card tray to that of the other gold options Apple has released in the past, including “rose gold”. That being said it is unclear if this blush gold will be made available across all iPhone models released this year, or if it could be limited to certain models, like last year where the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were the only models to offer gold as a finish option.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now but it’s probably too early to determine if the rumors are true, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information.
