IBM inks Union Square lease

Tech giant takes 28k sf at 19 Union Square West

IBM inked a 27,699-square-foot lease at 19 Union Square West.

The tech giant will use the space to house part of its technology and engineering team, the New York Post reported.

Meriel Realty LLC owns the 108,000-square-foot office building, which sits at the corner of East 15th Street. Property records indicate that the entity is tied to the Kayden family. CBRE represented the tenant and ABS Partners Real Estate the landlord.

IBM also has up to 600 employees in a WeWork-managed building at 88 University Place.  The company is reportedly on the hunt for a 350,000-square-foot headquarters. [NYP] — Konrad Putzier
