Microsoft and Ghana’s Ministry of Education to sign MoU

Microsoft and Ghana’s Ministry of Education are planning to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on more collaborative ways to upgrade education in Ghana. The joint effort will provide both, support for teacher development and advancing digital literacy in secondary and post-secondary education.
The statement was issued in Accra by Microsoft during the donation it gave to the Betenase Municipal Assembly Junior High School in the Ashanti Region.

The donated items included include 27 laptops, a projector, a scanner, furniture, screen, UPS back up and routers, device security storage unit and a one-year free 3G connectivity.
As revealed, the agreement will help in establishing a network for cooperation and intends to create sustainable scalable projects and initiatives.
Both, the Ministry of Education and Microsoft jointly agreed for fraternization to implement learning and enhance skill development.
The two will collaborate to combine information communication technology in education at all the levels, be it primary, secondary or post-secondary. The two also aims to implement learning platform and will provide internship programmes.
According to the statement, the combined effort will enable Ghana to overcome the deficiency it has been facing in technology-based education and will also help in achieving its vision to provide relevant education and enable citizens to acquire the latest skills which in turn will make them more productive.
