iPhone X Plus to be same size as iPhone 8 Plus according to report
According to Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple’s upcoming ‘iPhone X Plus’ will roughly be the same size as the current iPhone 8 Plus handset, with the source reporting the device will feature a thicker design due to the “mounting form of the rear camera.”
The “reliable supplier information source” used by the site has indicated that the device will be around 0.2mm thicker than the current iPhone X, which would put 7.7mm in thickness.
Macotakara claim that Apple’s lower-cost LCD 6.1-inch iPhone model will support Face ID, but it may only have a single rear camera like the iPhone 8.
Next model of iPhone X 5.8 inches uses the same body as current model, but along with growing the size of the camera sensor, the lens will become bigger.
Within the report, Macotakara also note that iOS 12 will add support for horizontal Face ID unlocking, another hint that Apple will release an iPad (most likely an update to its iPad Pro line) with Face ID support.
