You can now play your PC game library anywhere around your home without being weighed down by a chunky gaming laptop. The official Steam Link app lets you enjoy your favorite Steam games on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

You’ll be able to play with a Steam Controller, MFi controller, or a range of other gamepads supported by Steam.

Steam Link lets you stream your Steam games from your Mac or PC to another screen in your home. It utilizes the power of your gaming rig so you get the best possible performance without having to move your primary machine around your home — or invest in another one.

Steam Link previously required a $50 set-top box, but not anymore.

Steam Link is coming to iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

An official Steam Link app is coming to the App Store this month. It will allow you to stream your Mac and PC games to your iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV so that you can play them almost anywhere — so long as your devices are connected to the same network.

Steam Link supports Ethernet and 5GHz wireless connections, plus a range of wireless controllers that let you play comfortably without finding space for a keyboard and mouse. All the games you’ve purchased through Steam are compatible with Steam Link.

This is a great way to enjoy your favorite desktop titles almost anywhere — even out in the yard on a warm afternoon if your network connection allows it — without settling for watered-down mobile versions. And Valve has more up its sleeve.

Steam Video makes your media available everywhere

Steam Video, another app coming later this summer, will allow you to stream all your movies, music, and TV shows from your computer to an iOS device. Unlike Steam Link, you won’t need to be connected to the same network — Steam Video will also work over LTE.

You’ll be able to download Steam Link from the App Store during the week of May 21. An Android version will be available in beta around the same time.
