HP is updating a bunch of its Elite series PCs today, and the highlight is a slightly reworked EliteBook x360. The new model looks almost identical to the old one, but HP says it has a 10 percent smaller overall footprint — the bezels around its display are noticeably thinner on the sides and bottom, which is a nice improvement. But the big step up here is the addition of LTE. Unfortunately, LTE is an optional feature, so you’ll have to pay more, but this is still one of the highest-end devices HP has offered with a data connection yet.

The Elite series is HP’s line of devices for business users, but the company’s business and consumer lines tend to blur in many cases as the company tries to appeal to younger workers. And in the case of the EliteBook x360, there’s not much here that would make it a poor choice for regular consumers. (And if anything, that blurring makes me hope that HP will eventually offer LTE on some of its consumer laptops, too.)

The EliteBook x360 is getting some other nice updates. The laptop is also being offered with an anti-glare screen coating, and the webcam has been updated to 1080p. There are a number of updates to HP’s stylus, too, though it’s sold separately. It now has a higher degree of pressure sensitivity and charges over USB-C; the laptop can also be set to alert you if the stylus goes out of range (i.e. you forgot it somewhere), and the side of the EliteBook is now magnetic so that it’ll clip on (though I’ve never found similar magnets to have a particularly sturdy grip).

HP is also updating a bunch of other Elite series products, including the Elite x2 and the EliteOne 1000 all-in-one. There’s also a new 15.6-inch laptop with discrete graphics called the EliteBook 1050. They all offer Intel’s eighth-generation Core i processors. The EliteBook x360 will be available next month starting at $1,449. The other products launch within the next two months as well.

On top of all that, HP is also introducing a new portable display that works over USB-C. Here it is plugged into the EliteBook x360:

It’s 14 inches wide, has a 1080p resolution, and it comes with an iPad-like foldable cover that you can use to prop it up. It’ll sell for $219 when it launches in July.
