A new processor from Intel could be coming next week, and it could support clock speeds of up to 5GHz, as spotted by Videocardz.
The website has spotted retail listings for an upcoming processor from Intel, the Intel Core i7-8086K. The name is inspired by Intel's 8086 processor, which is turning forty years old on June 8th, and it seems that the new processor is in celebration of that anniversary.
The listings show that the processor will have a base clock speed of 4GHz, but per rumors, it will support boost speeds of up to 5GHz. While these are impressive numbers, it seemingly retains the same six cores and 12 threads as other desktop Coffee Lake processors. One of the listings reveals a price of around $480 for the processor, which is about $70 more than the already available Core i7-8700K.
Keep in mind, the processor hasn't been unveiled officially, and the current pricing could be a placeholder. Intel is hosting an event on June 5th, and we could learn more details of this anniversary release by then.
