Work on the upcoming Windows 10 Redstone 5 update continues, and Microsoft today released another preview build as part of the Windows Insider program.

Windows 10 build 17682 is available for users enrolled in the Fast and the Skip Ahead rings, and it comes with several improvements, the most important of which concerns Sets.

The company has refined the experience with new tabs, so now when you click the plus button in a Sets window, Windows 10 will display the apps that you typically use on your system. This behavior should help launch your frequently-used apps faster, while also making your work with tabs a little bit more effective.

You can toggle between the old interface showing the news feed and the new apps view by simply clicking the options at the bottom of the screen.

New post-upgrade setup screen

This build also comes with further tweaks to wireless projecting capabilities and includes Microsoft Edge improvements for web developers, such as support for Web Authentication.

Microsoft also makes RSAT available on demand, which means you won’t have to manually download it every time you upgrade, and introduces a post-upgrade setup that helps users configure certain features like Windows Hello, link the phone and a PC, or get Office 365 ready after clean-installing the OS. An option to skip this UI lets you jump directly to the desktop.

“You may see this window showing after you upgrade. Don’t worry – all your stuff is still there! We know some of you bought and setup your devices a long time ago – the features available in Windows have changed since then, so we’re giving you an opportunity to go through the setup questions you may have missed to ensure your device has the best setup possible,” Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, explains.

There are also several known bugs and further general improvements, and you can check them out in the box after the jump.
