With so much to digest during Apple’s big WWDC keynote on Monday, it was easy to miss some of the finer details.

You might be aware of every new feature coming to iOS 12 this fall. You might have memorized the changes to macOS, too. But did you know that more than 20 million people are now building apps for Apple devices, or that 10 billion Siri requests are processed every month?

Here are some fascinating numbers you probably missed during WWDC.

During Apple’s presentation, the company highlighted all kinds of impressive figures that show just how successful its devices and services have become. Littered throughout the software previews, they were interesting but easy to miss.

Fortunately for us, Asymco analyst Horace Dediu has compiled a list of them all.

WWDC 2018 in numbers

Some of the numbers are truly astounding. For instance, did you know that 1 trillion (1,000,000,000) photos are taken with iOS devices every year? Or that Apple has now paid out more than $100 billion to App Store developers?

Here’s Dediu’s list in full:

Some of these figures aren’t too surprising. iOS 11’s adoption rate is about what we’ve come to expect for iOS updates, and most of us are aware the App Store is ten years old now. Others are amazing, and they’re a testament to the impact Apple is making on the world.

One that sticks out for me is the satisfaction rate of iOS. We all know that it’s the best mobile operating system, and iOS 11 was a terrific upgrade, bringing a whole host of awesome new features. But it was also incredibly buggy, and there were big complaints about performance.

It’s somewhat surprising, then, that iOS has achieved a satisfaction rate of 95 percent. I would have expected it to be a little lower, especially after the whole iPhone throttling fiasco.

If you still haven’t had a chance to enjoy the WWDC keynote, it’s now available on YouTube.
