That Escalated Quickly - iOS 11.4.1 Public Beta 3 Released

Hopefully we only have one more week to look at this header image.

Can you feel the inexorable pull of the iOS 12 Public Beta on your testing device? It's coming soon! How do I know? Because iOS 11.4.1 Public Beta 3 just dropped for testers less than a week after Public Beta 2.

It looks like Apple is going to clear the decks and have all of its iOS Public Beta Program participants on the same build (rather than dealing with multiple iOS versions for the public beta). Personally, I'm thrilled. iOS 11.4.1 has been a snoozefest of a beta and seeing the developer details leaking out from their testing of iOS 12 has been maddening!

What's In Store for iOS 11.4.1

Best guess? We'll see one more week of builds before iOS 11.4.1 wraps and iOS 12 is released to Public Beta testers. If we get really lucky, we'll see a fourth beta this weekend to put a bow on the build before it ships to the general public.

What? A guy can dream.

How To Start Beta Testing

Need to get signed up? Head over to https://beta.apple.com/ and sign in with your enrolled Apple ID (or create a beta account if you don't have one already) and follow the steps. They're fairly self-explanatory, but if you get stuck, check out my How To Install Apple Public Betas guide (to be honest, you should check it out anyway for helpful reminders of things to watch out for when beta testing).

If you're ready to get off the beta train, you can do that too. Just delete your beta profile and await the next round.
