GRAPHISOFT North America, based in Boston, has announced that the global leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for architects will demonstrate ARCHICAD 22 at the 2018 Conference on Architecture (booth 1057), scheduled for 21 – 23 June 2018 at the Javits Center in New York City.

ARCHICAD 22 at NYC

The latest release features a remastered Facade Design workflow with support for both traditional and algorithmic workflows that the Hungarian software pioneer argues are unmatched in the industry. The deep integration between the BIM leader and algorithmic design software leader McNeel & Associates has led to a bounty of newfound focus and attention on ARCHICAD in the past several years, often due to the marquee design firms gaining international attention for designs that utilize these combined workflows. With the new facade tools, one of the most complex and detailed aspects of designing buildings is made both more enjoyable and streamlined for advanced facades.

“Laser focus on the architect’s day-to-day experience as they design drives this new version of ARCHICAD forward,” says Tracey Gatland, General Manager for GRAPHISOFT North America. “We have enhanced the Facade Design workflow so that each step an architect takes on a project, from concept through design development to documentation supporting local standards is 100 percent BIM and never interferes with creativity.”

01 – GRAPHISOFT’s new ARCHICAD 22 features a revamped Curtain Wall workflow that is also connected to its Grasshopper-driven algorithmic modeling connection.

Expression defined property values, additional workflow improvements, parametric profiles and CineRender engine enhancements can also be found within version 22. All of these combine to what the software pioneer claims are the fastest BIM engine on the market.

By Design Season 2 Trailer Debut

GRAPHISOFT North America will also debut the trailer for Season 2 of its original digital content series, “By Design.”

This season examines how architects, educators, and users have relied on ARCHICAD to evolve with technological advances. In this new season, viewers will take a journey with firms that embrace virtual reality, devote resources to future proofing and discover the next frontier of architecture.

The Successful Start-Up Studio

At AIA National, GRAPHISOFT will host a talk by Anthony Laney, AIA, principal of Los Angeles-based Laney, LA, Inc.  The featured architect in Season 1, Episode 1 of By Design, Laney will present “The Successful Start-Up Studio on Thursday (21 June 2018) at 2:15 – 3:15 PM (Session EX303, CE Theater C, Booth 4478).

Based on personal experience, Laney will share practical tips for new firms to compete against established ones. With a focus on how to attract tech-savvy staff needed to stand out and ways to capitalize on BIM-enabled workflows to help emerging architects thrive in a competitive market, the session aims to provide actionable advice for architects looking to branch out on their own.
