Update previous blocked due to compatibility issues

Microsoft has resumed the rollout of Windows 10 April 2018 Update to Dell’s Alienware systems after the company previously suspended it due to compatibility issues.

Windows 10 April 2018 Update, also known as version 1803, was published as a manual download on April 30, while the automatic rollout via Windows Update started on May 8 via Windows Update.

Just like the majority of Windows 10 devices, Alienware systems received the April 2018 Update, only to discover issues that substantially affected performance and caused a black screen when exiting battery saving mode.

Microsoft decided to suspend the rollout temporarily in order to discover the cause of the bug and prevent more systems from getting it. Last week, the company finally managed to resolve the bug and begin re-offering the April 2018 Update to Alienware systems.

In a very short tweet (via BornCity), Alienware Support confirmed that the April 2018 Update is now available for their systems.

“Microsoft update 1803 is now ready for Alienware computer. This one should run automatically already, if no feel free to run it. It works now,” the company’s support account explained.

Windows 10 April 2018 Update has already become the fastest-adopted version of Windows 10, and with this solved issue, Microsoft technically makes the update available for nearly all devices. Of course, it would take a while until all systems install it, but at least it should become available via Windows Update with a simple check.

In the meantime, the software giant is hard at work to resolve issues in this new OS version, and tomorrow it’ll release a new batch of updates as part of the monthly Patch Tuesday cycle. As it happens every month, Windows 10 will receive new cumulative updates, and the April 2018 Update will be one of the products to get both security and non-security improvements.
