Mophie debuts new portable battery banks that use a Lightning port for recharging

Mophie, known for its battery phone cases, external battery packs and other items, has released a new line of battery packs that will allow recharging through a Lightning port.

The new powerstation, powerstation XXL, powerstation plus, and powerstation plus XL feature a Lightning port for input, making it more convenient for Apple device owners to charge their device and battery pack while on the go. Previously, battery packs featured only a Micro USB or USB Type-C port, meaning that if you were an Apple user, you had to bring another cable along just to charge your battery pack.

So what makes the powerstation and powerstation plus line different? Both powerstation models offer multiple USB Type-A ports that will allow users to charge up a couple of their devices at the same time. The model can be purchased in two sizes, with the powerstation coming with a 6,040mAh battery, while the XXL model offers a more robust 20,200mAh battery.

The powerstation plus and plus XL come with a built-in Lightning connector and also an additional USB Type-A port. The powerstation plus will have a 6,040mAh battery, while the plus XL will have a 10,000mAh unit. The XL model is more unique when compared to the rest of the line as it will be able to be recharged using a Qi wireless charger.

The battery packs can now be found in Apple Stores or on its website, and also on the Mophie website. The powerstation will start at $59.95, while the powerstation plus will start at $79.95.
