How to Change Custom Keynote Themes Quickly

NoteWatch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps below, that complement this video.

1. Switch to the Document Tab

I've got a presentation here that I've already developed, and I'm going to change the theme. Let's switch over to the Document tab here to change the theme and click on Change Theme.

Use the Change Theme button to display the Keynote built-in themes.

2. Choose a Built-in Theme

Here are some built-in Keynote themes.

You can see the Keynote built-in themes that you could choose from. To change your presentation theme, just choose one of these and confirm it. All of the objects in your presentation will update with custom fonts, color schemes, and more.

You'll want to make sure that the presentation still appears correctly by checking the slides, but a couple of clicks generally overhauls the entire presentation. You can always return to that same menu and change the theme again if you don't like the look of the theme you selected.

3. Select Premium Custom Keynote Themes

A better way to use Keynote is to use a premium service like Envato Elements for themes. These are pre-built templates that you can download as part of a flat rate subscription.

Finishing Up!

Download any Keynote template from Envato Elements, open it up, and customize it to your liking. These themes are typically more professional and flexible than the themes that are built into Keynote, and there's no shortage of variety and design.
