Apple offers flood victims in Japan free pickup, repair and delivery of damaged iOS powered devices
Japan has suffered through floods this month that were caused by heavy rains. For those whose mobile Apple devices were damaged by the flooding, the company is offering free repairs and will actually pick up damaged devices directly from flood victims, and deliver them once they are ready to be returned to their owners; Apple is not only offering free repairs, the company isn't charging for the pickup and delivery service. Apple will fix repairable iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and iPods that were "directly damaged by heavy rains in July."

Apple says that this program will run through the end of September and is open to "ordinary consumers living in municipalities, who were affected by disasters." Apple posted news of its free repairs and delivery service on its support site in Japan. The company did say that there could be delays picking up and delivering devices back to consumers in some areas affected by the flood. In other regions, pick up and delivery services have been suspended.

Apple Japan says that those with flood-damaged iOS devices who qualify for free pickup, repair and delivery should call Apple Support (0120-27753-5) to request a pickup. The company says that this must be done through a call as it will not accept online requests.
