Dell EMC’s Cameron Chehreh: Agencies Should Modernize Data Centers With Converged, Hyperconverged Tech

Cameron Chehreh

Cameron Chehreh, chief technology officer of Dell EMC’s federal business, has said government agencies that aim to achieve digital transformation and address mission-critical challenges should begin with data center modernization through the adoption of converged and hyperconverged infrastructure technologies.

Chehreh wrote that such technologies work to help agencies fully leverage automation and software in their data centers, coordinate software and hardware in order to advance storage and compute capabilities to the tactical edge and “bring the data center closer to frontline users.”

Information technology transformation could provide agencies an opportunity to build up their security postures and meet mission requirements, he noted.

“Through the application of software, agencies can create an envelope of security around data wherever it resides and wherever it might go,” he added.

Chehreh said agencies that seek to embark on IT modernization initiatives should advance workforce transformation by providing employees with “devices that offer the same access and portability that personal devices do.”
