How To Replace Fonts In Pages

There are two main methods for replacing a font in Pages. Typically, you would want to update some text and then apply that font change to the rest of the text that uses that same style. You can do that with a simple press of a button. But if you want to quickly replace a font that is used in multiple styles, you can use a special Replace Fonts function. This not only changes the text, but also updates all styles.

Why not just go to the Edit Menu and choose "Select All" and then change the Font in the sidebar? Quicker and not so many steps.

Shirley: That's if you wish to change all of the text to the same font. But what if you are using several fonts throughout the document and wish to only change the use of one font (like Arial) to another (like Helvetica) without changing the text that uses other fonts?

Yes, but it will change all Headings or subheadings and body to the same font but keep the style/size.

I am not able to replace the fonts feature, the item in the pull down menu is grayed out. My document is 5 pages which consists of text boxes with some clip art boxes.

Michael: Not sure why your command is grayed out. Try it with a new Pages document and see if it works there.

Apparently this feature is turned off when you are using the Collaboration feature that I was using with my wife in reviewing a document
