Google makes big improvements to Gmail, Google Voice on iOS

Google just rolled out its latest Gmail and Google Voice updates on iOS.

Users can look forward to big improvements, particularly in Voice, which now sports a brand new design. iPhone owners even get their hands on it ahead of those on Android.

Google has made some significant changes to its iOS apps this year. Not only has it made almost all compatible with iPhone X and its Super Retina HD display, but it has also delivered new features and improved designs.

Gmail and Google Voice are next in line for some tweaks.

Meet the new Google Voice

Voice now features a brand new design that’s cleaner and more attractive, and it looks great on iPhone X. There’s a new Contacts tab that lets you access your address book with one tap, while a shortcut makes it faster to add new entries.

The redesign also comes with a new Home screen icon that indicates Voice is now part of G Suite. Google promises that stability and performance has been enhanced, too.

Gmail gets VoiceOver fixes

The latest Gmail update now lets you dismiss the prompts that appear to remind you to follow up on an email. It also adds VoiceOver support for system labels, and ensures that VoiceOver reads the correct text when you’re editing a message.
