The Roseville Police Department in California has released a photo of two of the thieves who robbed a local Apple Store this week.

The crooks stole 20 iPhones, two MacBook Pros, and one iPad mini. Fortunately no-one was hurt during the robbery, which involved no weapons.

In addition to the photo, the police also released a description of all four men involved in the incident. They are hoping that members of the public may come forward to help.

All four suspects involved in the incident are described as black adult males, with two listed as being in their twenties. One was wearing distressed jeans, a blue Champion hoodie, and orange Nike sneakers; the second wore white and blue pants, a black hoodie sweatshirt, and blue sneakers; the third was kitted out in a black hooded sweatshirt with white under shirt and black sneakers; and the final suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt, distressed jeans, and black sneakers.

Anyone with any knowledge of the incident — which took place at the Apple Store in Roseville’s Galleria Mall — should contact Police Detective Gaines at NGaines@roseville.ca.us.

The police are investigating whether this was the same gang of four who previously robbed a Fresno Apple Store.

The recent spate in Apple Store thefts

Apple Store robberies have been in the news quite a lot as of late, as multiple grab-and-run thefts have taken place around the U.S. Apple’s retail outlets are often targeted because of the high value of Apple products, and the relatively low levels of security compared to other stores selling high-priced apparel.

Unfortunately for the thieves, Apple uses special versions of its software on all its demo devices which render them useless if stolen from a store. As a result, the stolen devices may be good for spare parts, but it’s extremely unlikely that their thieves will be able to make much use of them.
