Fortnite Battle Royale already supports more platforms than most games, but it seems it hasn’t finished expanding its reach. New evidence suggests the biggest game on the planet will soon be available on Apple TV.
You can play Fortnite on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and now Android. If you’re itching to play it, then, you have plenty of options. But it appears Epic Games has plans to bring Battle Royale to even more devices.
A reference to “tvOS” has been discovered in the latest Fortnite release, indicating the game will soon be making its way to Apple TV.
Fortnite to land on Apple TV
Support for so many platforms is one of the many things that has made Fortnite so popular. Despite being free-to-play, the game has now raked in more than $1 billion from in-app purchases as fans flock to buy its Battle Pass and fancy cosmetics.
Epic now wants to reach even more players by expanding Fortnite’s reach to Apple TV. @StormLeaks has uncovered references to tvOS in the latest game files. There is no word on when the game might be available on Apple TV just yet, however.

It makes sense to bring Fortnite to Apple TV now that it’s already compatible with iOS. It won’t take Epic Games a lot of work, and it’s yet another source of revenue.
It also means that those who own older iOS device, which aren’t compatible with Fortnite, can get involved without spending hundreds on an upgrade — or buying a dedicated home console. You will need to buy a compatible game controller, however.
It will likely be a while before we see Fortnite on Apple TV. Epic could even scrap the plan. But this is a promising discovery for Apple TV owners who want to enjoy the biggest Battle Royale game on the big screen.
