Apple Watch: How to keep the screen on longer

Many users want an always-on display for Apple Watch. While we’re likely years away from this feature becoming a possibility, Apple does offer an option to keep the screen on longer than the default 15 seconds.

  1. On Apple Watch, fire up Settings > General > Wake Screen.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom and tap Wake for 70 seconds.

Now, your Apple Watch display will stay on for 70 seconds once you tap the screen. Note that if you have wrist detection on, turning your wrist way from you will turn off the display as expected.

This option was likely created for original Series 0 Apple Watch owners who had to wait decades to open apps or using Siri. That model took anywhere between 30-60 seconds to load native applications.
