The more affordable 6.1-inch iPhone expected to launch this year won’t be as exciting as its pricier siblings, but it seems Apple has some tricks up its sleeve to make it more appealing.

New photos reveal some of the fancier color options buyers will be able to choose from, including red and blue.

The 6.1-inch iPhone will be the most affordable model in this year’s lineup. It’s expected to stick with LCD screen technology, rather than switching to OLED, and it will offer a single rear-facing camera sensor. It could also miss out on features like 3D Touch.

But aside from its slimmer price tag, there will be other reasons why you might want to buy one.

Several reliable tipsters have previously claimed that the 6.1-inch iPhone will come in a number of new colors, including red, blue, yellow, orange, and pink. The latest leak gives us our first sneak peek at two of them.

These photos, published by Slashleaks, reveal the new iPhone in a deep red and dark blue. A white model that looks similar to a white iPhone 8 is sandwiched between the two.

Interestingly, it seems the metal frame that surrounds the red and blue models has been finished to match the color of the glass panels. Even the metal ring that surrounds the rear-facing camera is color-matched. The metal chassis of the white model appears to be finished in rose gold.

It’s thought these more exciting colors will only be available with the 6.1-inch iPhone. However, the pricier 5.8- and 6.5-inch models could be available in a new gold finish.

Apple’s new iPhone lineup is coming September 12

Apple will make the 2018 iPhone lineup official during its special event on September 12. We’ll know then whether these images are real photos of the 6.1-inch iPhone and its new color options.

We’re also expecting Apple Watch Series 4, new iPad Pros, and more to make an appearance at the event.
