HP unveils new 3D printing technology and Metal Jet Production Service

The US-based software company, Hewlett-Packard (HP), has unveiled the world’s most advanced 3D printing technology for the high-volume manufacturing of production-grade metal parts, HP Metal Jet.

The new technology, which is set to provide up to 50 times more productivity at a substantially reduced cost, was rolled out at the 2018 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS).

In addition, the firm also confirmed the arrival of its Metal Jet Production Service which allows customers worldwide to iterate new 3D part designs, produce final parts in volume and integrate HP Metal Jet into their long-term production roadmaps.

The news comes after it was announced that HP is teaming up with leading producer of materials and products using powder metallurgy technologies, GKN Powder Metallurgy, to introduce HP Metal Jet in their factories that will provide functional metal parts for auto and industrial leaders such as Volkswagen and Wilo.
