If you’re running Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803), you better check for updates because Microsoft has just released another cumulative update for this particular OS build.

Surprisingly, this is the second cumulative update for April 2018 Update released this month, and the third published in September after the ones rolled out on Patch Tuesday.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4458469 comes with a truly huge changelog, and you can check it in full in the box at the end of the article.

However, what you should know first is that this new update bumps the OS build number to 17134.319, and you get all kinds of bug fixes.

For example, Microsoft has fixed an issue occurring on some laptops and preventing the sign-out from completing.

“The issue occurs when a customer signs out and immediately closes the laptop. As a result, when the laptop is reopened, the device must be restarted,” the company explains.

Servicing stack update required

Additionally, there are also fixes for bugs impacting network switching on some devices, with Microsoft confirming that in previous OS builds, there was a certain delay in unlocking a number of laptops.

“Addresses an issue that causes a delay in unlocking or signing in to a computer that was moved to a different network. For example, a delay occurs when moving from a corporate LAN or WLAN to a home LAN where domain controllers can't be reached.”

Probably the best thing about this new cumulative update is that it comes with no known issues, which technically means that it should install correctly on all systems. But given how many changes are bundled, it remains to be seen if this is indeed the case, as cumulative updates have a long history of failed installs and other issues.

Before installing cumulative update KB4458469, you need to deploy servicing stack update KB4456655 on your Windows 10 system first.
