The iPad mini might not be dead after all

Apple is allegedly making a new iPad mini, according to one of the most reliable Apple analysts around. And new AirPods might be on the way, too.

TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo told investors today that he expects Apple to release two new iPad Pros at the October event in New York City. Even more surprising is Kuo’s claim that an iPad mini is in the works.

A resurgent iPad mini?

The iPad mini hasn’t been updated since March 2017. Many Apple fans assumed Apple planned to kill its tiny tablet now that iPhone screens are nearly as big. But that might not be the case after all.

Kuo’s report says the new iPad mini might not launch on October 30. This is the first time we’ve heard any rumors of an updated 7.9-inch tablet coming out. Most of the rumors lately have focused on the iPad Pro models and their new features. Kuo had a little bit of info to share on those as well.

According to Kuo, the new iPad Pros will have USB-C, pack a better display and support a redesigned Apple Pencil that’s coming out too. Apple is also going to update existing Mac models with new processors.

New AirPods and AirPower, too

AirPods could get updated during Q4 this year or during Q1 of 2019, the report claims. Kuo also thinks AirPower could finally come out during the same period.

Apple is set to host a keynote on October 30 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. New Macs and iPads are expected to take up most of the stage time. But hopefully, Kuo’s prediction of new AirPods, AirPower and iPad mini will come true, too.
