Popular email app Spark is out today with a big update: email templates for iOS and Mac. The new templates can even be shared across teams using Spark. Read on for all the details about this new useful update.
Announced in a blog post, Spark notes that much of the text in business emails is reused and is ripe for automation.
In most of these cases, a majority of the message stays the same while only certain parts of it change, like the recipient’s name or numeric values. It’s deeply frustrating to keep reusing the same text manually every time you have to send out emails.
Naturally, it set out to solve this problem. Here’s how developer Readdle describes Spark’s new templates:
With the new Templates feature in Spark, you can create reusable blocks of text that you can include in an email with a few simple clicks. Spark even gives you additional control over templates by letting you specify placeholders, which are then replaced by actual values when the email is being sent out.
Spark suggests a few email types that can be leveraged by templates:
- Reports
- Team updates
- Pitches
- Client quotes
- F.A.Qs
The blog post features a guide on getting going with templates.
To get started with templates in Spark, open Spark’s Preferences and navigate to the new ‘Templates’ tab.
Now, click on the ‘Create template’ button to create a new template with your own copy of the text.
Spark is a free download and the new templates are available on both Mac and iOS.
