This Firmware Update has so far fixed a major issue with my Surface Pro 3 introduced with the last firmware update earlier in the year. Where it would randomly just go to sleep for no reason, no matter what you were doing. It would take a few minutes before you could even power it back on. So I'm finally happy it's working like it should again.

Still my main home pc, still works, still excellent – one of the best products MS has ever made. Thinking about a Surface Pro 6, but I still don't really need to upgrade from my Surface Pro 3 yet….

Honorable mentions:

Zune HD was just waaaaaay too late to market ;(

Nokia 1520 was still the best and most forward thinking phone they've successfully produced

My Surface Pro 3 is my go-to device when I am not at my desktop or when I am traveling. Its had a few minor niggles (going to sleep for no reason, occasional issues rebooting) but has been otherwise superb. Mine is one of the last Microsoft sold running Windows 8.1 (which it still runs). Its been a great piece of gear.

My SP3's Type Cover stopped working a few months ago, along with a lot of other people's. A firmware update caused it to stop functioning (the cover is fine, the machine just doesn't recognize it). I thought the firmware update last night would fix it, but instead I'm greeted with the message that Windows is now no longer activated. Thanks Microsoft. I'm so effing fed up with their software/firmware bungling. They should be embarrassed, but they aren't. I'll never ever buy another Microsoft hardware product again in my life.

In reply to DocPaul:

I've done that. Nothing fixes it. I even bought a new type cover like an idiot. They both work on other SPs, but not mine. At least the windows activation problem is fixed. Yay Microsoft.
