Apple is now offering unlocked iPhone XR devices that are sold without a SIM card in the US, as spotted by MacRumors. Customers can buy unlocked, SIM-free phones without having to choose a carrier, which will allow them to choose which wireless network they want to use later on and easily switch between providers.

The iPhone XS was available to purchase without SIM cards at launch, but the iPhone XR was initially tied to carriers to prioritize the supply for its wireless network partners and users on upgrade plans. It’s also predicted by analysts to outperform the iPhone XS in sales, as it’s Apple’s most affordable 2018 phone, and it shares many of the same specs as the more expensive flagship. The SIM-free phones are also right on time for the holiday shopping season, so the phones can be gifted without having to know the gift recipient’s carrier.

The iPhone XR starts at $749 for 64GB models, and it’s available now on Apple’s online store.
