AMD RX 590 Vs Nvidia GTX 1060 Benchmarks In Different Games

The benchmarks show that the AMD RX 590 has a noticeable edge over the GTX 1060. It is worth mentioning that the AMD RX 590 does consume more power.

The AMD RX 590 is out now and if you are interested in checking out how it compares to the Nvidia GTX 1060 then you have come to the right place. Here we are going to look into the performance of the AMD RX 590 and the Nvidia GTX 1060 in different modern AAA games.

AMD RX 590 Benchmarks

The AMD RX 590 is able to blow the Nvidia GTX 1060 out of the water when it comes to performance in modern games at 1080p. While the price is a bit high as compared to the RX 580 but keeping in mind that AMD is bundling the card with Devil May Cry 5, The Division 2 and Resident Evil 2 remake, which alone are $180, overall the card is great value for money.

The benchmarks show that the AMD RX 590 has a noticeable edge over the GTX 1060. It is worth mentioning that the AMD RX 590 does consume more power as compared to the GTX 1060. If you are looking for the more powerful graphics card in the sub-300 dollar range then the RX 590 is a no-brainer but if you are looking for the best performance per watt then the GTX 1060 is the winner here.

The AMD RX 590 is based on the 12nm process from Global Foundries, but the transistor count is not the same as this is the same 14nm process that Samsung is using. The frequency is higher, which results in better performance but then it does also consume more power.

Nvidia has announced the new GDDR5X memory GTX 1060 that is a cutdown version of the GTX 1080. This might be a way of getting rid of the Pascal series cards now that the RTX graphics cards have released. We also know that there is no mid-range graphics card coming from Nvidia, at least not this year. So this does give AMD a bit of an edge with the RX 590 and RX 580.
