Satechi has a new wireless charger that joins the exclusive club of charging pads that actually support USB-C instead of Micro USB or a proprietary plug.
The charger — officially called the Satechi Aluminum Type-C PD & QC Wireless Charger — is pretty simple as far as wireless chargers go. It supports up to 10W wireless charging, which is enough to fast-charge Apple and Samsung phones. (Pixel devices, however, won’t fast-charge since it’s not a Google-certified pad.) It has an aluminum case, rubberized top, and a helpful raised cross to make finding the actual charging coil easy.
Unfortunately, the $44.99 price point doesn’t include a wall adapter. You’ll need to pick up a USB-C PD wall plug separately, but those are finally starting to become more commonplace.
Still, if you’re looking for a simple, good-looking wireless charger that isn’t stuck using the cable standard of the past, Satechi’s new pad seems like a good option. It’s available from Amazon and Satechi’s website starting today.
