Popular construction simulator Tropico finally has a release date for iOS. You’ll be able to play it before the end of the year on your iPad and in 2019 on your iPhone.

Pre-order the game today to have it download automatically as soon as it hits the App Store.

Feral Interactive confirmed it was porting Tropico to iOS way back in June. It promised it would arrive before the end of 2018, but for the past six months, it has been worryingly quiet.

Now we know exactly when Tropico will be available from the App Store.

Tropico makes its debut on iPad on December 18

The game will make its debut on December 18 — just under two weeks away — when you’ll be able to play it on iPad. It’ll run on the fifth-generation iPad and later as well as all models of iPad Pro.

Tropico requires iOS 12 and at least 3GB of available storage space for installation. It will be priced at $11.99, but that’s all you will ever pay; there are no in-app purchases or subscription fees.

The game’s launch trailer suggests it’s worth that price tag.

If you don’t have a compatible iPad, you’ll be pleased to know Tropico is also coming to iPhone in 2019. Again, we don’t have a more specific release date, and Feral hasn’t yet confirmed which handsets will be compatible.

Tropico makes you El Presidente

Tropico is a construction simulator in which players take the role of El Presidente, the newly-elected leader of the Tropico island. The island boasts untapped resources and enormous potential, but it’s underdeveloped and in desperate need of modernization.

It’s your job to provide the residents of Tropico with a better future, and a nation they can be proud of. The opportunities are endless, and there are countless hours of fun to be had.

Pre-order Tropico for iOS in the App Store today.
