iPhone sales may be hitting a road block, but there are plenty of stats that offer up reasons to be optimistic about Apple.

One of them? That the Apple Watch is now a much bigger business for Apple than the iPod ever was. While the iPod today may be pretty much nonexistent as a revenue stream for Apple, there was a time when it was far and away the company’s top earner.

The above chart was shared by Asymco analyst Horace Dediu. It highlights what Dediu believes has been a monster holiday quarter for Apple, buoyed by the smash hit Apple Watch Series 4. That device, complete with ECG feature, looks set to be Apple’s biggest Apple Watch seller by a wide margin.

It also handily beats the iPod’s 2010 holiday season, which represented the high point of that particular product line. At the time, the iPod world was celebrating multi-touch coming to the six-gen iPod nano, the fourth-gen iPod touch had debuted, and President Obama was discussing his iPod playlist with Rolling Stone magazine.

Apple has yet to officially reveal Apple Watch sales figures. Now that it has stopped sharing unit numbers for the iPhone, we don’t expect that to change either.
