Cook has since commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day in a follow-up tweet.

I can't take Tim seriously with his "social equality" mentality. Yes, it's MLK day. Good to honor this day...but when Tim comes in with any kind of social/historical topic...it's a cringe.

So far only one positive comment out of nine. Saddening that readers have to find judgment towards a simple PR message to help bring this generation’s awareness of all that MLK stood for.

Pfft, what does Tim Cook know about injustice, alienation, or minority rights? He grew up in '60s–'70s Alabama, a state that had anti-gay laws until 2000 ****ing 3. Life must've been a cake walk. Totally can't take him seriously.

I'm sure Martin Luther King is rolling in his grave seeing what his fight turned into. #metoo, BLM, antifa and rest of the garbage.

It’s great to see these companies honoring MLK’s legacy. Some people today really don’t realize how much their everyday lives would’ve been affected had someone not fought for civil liberties.
