Win95 on macOS

Nostalgia's not what it used to be.

Get It

Try It

SAN FRANCISCO (Rixstep) — Felix Rieseberg has released a new version of his 'embedded' Windows 95 for macOS. The 'application' is written in Javascript. And it's available as a free download.

This version includes a copy of Doom.

windows95.app loads fast. Don't be surprised if your cursor can't escape the app's area - use cmd-Tab to get around.

Remember to use the macOS menu to quit.

Cleaning up: check in Application Support and in ~/Library/Logs. Finally, there's a PLIST in ~/Library/Preferences: com.felixrieseberg.windows95.plist.

Other than that, it's pretty clean.

You can read more about Felix here.
