Officials with Dell Technologies and the PGA Tour announced Tuesday that the company had extended its sponsorship of Austin's WGC match play tournament.

The sponsorship was extended by four years, through 2023.

The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play tournament starts Wednesday at Austin Country Club.

The tournament is in its fourth year at ACC. The field of 64 features 28 of the world's top 30 golfers. The rankings reflect the best golfers from the six biggest pro tours in the world. It's the only match play event on the PGA Tour.

"The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play has been a phenomenal success for our community, our customers, the fans and the local charitable organizations that have benefited from the more than $3 million generated to date," said Michael Dell, CEO of Dell, in a statement to the media.

"We were thrilled to bring the first professional (PGA) golf event to our hometown of Austin in 2016 and we are excited to continue sponsoring this world-class event for another four years."

Last July, members of Austin Country Club approved keeping the tournament at the course through 2023.
