A new Apple Store is destined for one of London’s most luxurious shopping districts, according to a new report.
Apple plans to open a new location in Knightsbridge between high-end department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols. It will be the company’s sixth store in the capital.
Apple already commands a presence in some of London’s most popular shopping destinations, including Regent Street and Covent Garden. Its new location will put it at the heart of central London.
Apple will join retail elite
Apple’s new Knightsbridge store will measure around 20,000 square feet, according to local newspaper Evening Standard.
Apple is “understood to have signed a deal with Chelsfield, the property asset manager overseeing the makeover of The Knightsbridge Estate,” reads the report.
The revamped Estate, which fronts Brompton Road and Sloane Street, promises a mix of “world-class retail accommodation,” offices, 35 apartments, and a rooftop restaurant.
As part of the project, Chelsfield has promised to make significant improvements to nearby Knightsbridge Underground station, including the installation of two 17-person lifts.
The Apple Store will join a host of high-end retailers, including Furla and Diesel. Apple is yet to confirm the store and declined to comment on the rumor.
